AquaFlake™ Hydrosurgery Debridement System

“One system for different types of wounds.”

Mechanism of Action

AquaFlake™ Hydrosurgery Debridement System is intended to cut, ablate and remove tissue from wounds and to resect and remove material in various surgical procedures including wound debridement. Hydrosurgery System Hydrosurgery enables surgeons to accurately debride burned tissue while preserving viable dermis in the acute setting.Hydrosurgery System As an alternative to conventional blade debridement, The Hydrosurgery system is composed of a handpiece which is a disposable unit that can be used to debride and clean wounds, a power console which creates the fluid jet that enables the handpiece to work, a foot switch which allows singlehanded usage, a saline bag and waste container.

Principle of Operation

As a part of AquaFlake™ Hydrosurgery Debridement System, The Hydrosurgery system console highly pressurizes saline solution and generates a jet effect, emitted from the tip of the hand‐held instrument. The jet travels through the nozzle of the instrument generating a Venturi effect which is an increase in the fluid's velocity and a decrease in its static pressure due to its passage through a constricted area. The high‐pressure jet clears non‐viable tissue from a wound. The pressure of the fluid jet can be adjusted by the surgeon, allowing for a precise depth of debridement, and thus achieving an accurate wound debridement with complete removal of non‐viable tissue and maximal preservation of healthy tissue.Hydrosurgery System
